Archery Ranges
Attention Archery enthusiasts. The Club is planning on updating our Archery Ranges. We currently have an Archery Range behind the Clubhouse & a Field Target Range located in combination with the Muzzleloader Woods Walk. We are looking for your ideas & volunteers to help make this a reality.
The first step is to update the Archery Range behind the Clubhouse. Some ideas include new target backstops that will hold all traditional and compound arrows along with crossbow arrows that reach speeds to 400 feet per second and a designated shooting line like the ones at the pistol and rifle ranges with four back stops placed at distances ranging from 20 to 50 yards.
We will also rebuild the Field Target Range if Members express an interest in doing so.
Anyone interested in sharing their ideas &/or helping physically can contact Mike Blessing at any Members Meeting or sending an email to clubinfo@hlragc.org
Marty Cirelli Memorial Trap Shoot
The Marty Cirelli Memorial Bacon Trap Shoot has been rescheduled for Sunday 10-29-23. The shoot is rain or shine & is open to the public. The proceeds will benefit the Kingston Medical Oncology Prescription Fund.
Call To Action
Join the Harveys Lake Rod & Gun Club in opposing the actions taken by the State Senate on August 30, 2023 when a last-minute amendment was added to HB 1300 that if enacted, would transfer $150 million from the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s (PGC) Game Fund to another fund. This transfer of $150 million represents about 30% of the Game Fund’s value.
The PGC operates independently; it does not receive General Funds through the state budget process or funding via state tax dollars. The Game Fund is funded through the sale of hunting licenses, tags, land sales, resources sales, royalties and by excise taxes on hunting and shooting supplies as established by the Pittman-Robertson Act (PR). This transfer puts at risk the agency’s eligibility for present & future federal funding through PR.
Call or write your Legislator and request them to remove the Game Fund amendment from HB1300.
